The Older Vermonters Working Group was created by the Legislature to develop recommendations for an Older Vermonters Act that aligns with the federal Older Americans Act, the Vermont State Plan on Aging, and the Choices for Care Program. The Older Vermonters Act Working Group’s Report was submitted to the legislature on November 25, 2019, and formed the basis for the development of the Older Vermonters Act. Act 156, the Older Vermonters Act, was passed by the legislature in September 2020 and signed by the Governor on October 5, 2020.
