This year blindness organizations in Vermont are recognizing White Cane Awareness Day with an informative video about the history of the White Cane in Vermont dating back to the early 1920s. Fred Jones, Director of the Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired, encourages Vermonters to connect with this important part of our history and increase awareness about the importance of the white cane for safe travel in our communities.
