Updates
Division of Disability and Aging Services (DDAS)
In the months ahead, DDAS will be working with community partners, including people who participate in services and their caregivers to:
- Increase consumer choice and capacity for home-based services through outcome and performance based contracting;
- DA Paperwork Admin Memo
- Develop an adult family foster care program;
- Improve the timeliness of Choices for Care service availability;
- Create incentives for community-based care;
- Better serve Vermonters with co-occurring mental health and other disability/medical needs.
- Reduce the fiscal year 2011 appropriation for developmental services by a total of 1.0 percent in the designated agencies.
- DDS FY'11 1% Direct Allocation Reduction Summary
- Develop new residential options for individuals with developmental disabilities as described in the state system of care plan.
- Analyze new service models for clients with developmental disabilities whose services are high-cost and implement any cost-effective new service models as soon as practical.
- Reduce cost of serving individuals with developmental disabilities who pose risk to public safety.
